My Simple Recipe Organizer System
Do Your Recipes Look Like This?
Try my Simple Recipe Organizer System…it’s so easy and costs hardly anything! This system is great if you enjoy keeping recipes on hand. Have you ever ripped out recipes from books or magazines? What did you do with all of those little odd papers? What about a print-off of a recipe? Where did that end up? Well…Join My Club!! This was a HUGE issue for me! Finally, I decided to get organized! Side Note: You do not have to spend a lot of money. Here’s my system, but feel free to tweak it how you prefer…
depending on how many recipes you have…
1. Purchase 3 Ring Binder
2. Purchase Notebook Plastic Sheet Protectors
3. Purchase Optional Notebook Tab Dividers
Once you have your 3 ring binder in hand, fill it with sheet protectors. Then stick all your recipe papers inside the plastic protectors and label. It’s as simple as that! I used one sheet protector for all of my “pasta,” “drink,” “bread,” “dessert,” recipes, etc. So for example…all of my dessert recipes went into one sheet protector, then I added another sheet protector for all of my pasta recipes, etc., etc. I hope these are helpful and easy instructions to follow!
Here’s where you can get creative: adding tab dividers makes it cute and personal. My simple strategy: I wrote the categories with a black sharpie on the outside of the plastic sheet protector (on the top right hand corner). But, feel free to make it as beautiful or plain as you want! Currently, these are the categories I use in my binder:
***Breakfast, Breads, Brownies, Cookies, Cupcakes, Cakes, Pies, Frostings, Desserts, Drinks, Pastas, Chili, Crock Pot, Christmas, Dressings, Gravies, Meats, Pizzas, Rolls, Salads, Salsas, Sides, Smoothies, Snacks, Soups***
This 3 ring binder method works well for me. Once set up, all you have to do is grab it from a shelf and thumb through the categories. It’s fast, easy and simple! Hope you enjoy these tips for making life a little bit more organized. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments!
