Our Gulf Coast Beach Adventure Part 2
~I Love Florida~
Destin & Panama City Adventure!
Our Gulf Coast Beach Adventure Part 2: Touring Destin & Panama City was apart of our Florida beach vacay early June. My husband, Kevin, has never visited these two areas of Florida and I thought it would be super awesome to show him! Personally, I love the beautiful waters of Destin. The last time I saw Destin was in high school with my grandparents. Panama City was a girl’s trip I had with my mom a couple of years ago. Both of these places have some really cool things to see and do. Here are a few pics to enjoy!
~Destin~
Here are a few pictures of our gulf coast beach adventure part 2: Destin is beautiful isn’t it?! They have “Crab Island” now, which I wasn’t familiar with back in high school. This little island has tons of boats all in the harbor together. There is even an excursion to this little island~a day of relaxing and having fun in the water.
McGuire’s Irish Pub is actually pretty famous! This interested me, because of its history. If you walk in, you feel like you just stepped into Ireland…literally! It’s a very cool experience. McGuire’s is not just a pub, but a place to dine in and have some great food. It’s also a place to admire the “over a million $1 bills” hanging from the ceilings and pasted all over the walls! You’ve got to step in and see it, even if you only do that!! You cannot see the ceilings or the walls~it’s all money. In short, don’t forget to check out Destin, it’s cool sites and beautiful waters!
~Panama City~
Panama City is definitely a fishing town! There are a couple of long boardwalks and fishermen all over the place. This city is more “rugged” in my opinion, but it still has some interesting features. For example, if you love to fish, this is the place for you! In the little time we spent on the boardwalk, Kevin and I saw tons of little tiny fish (probably thousands)! They were all over the place!! I think we were mesmerized by them! Down at the very end of the boardwalk, we saw a sailfish and tarpon. The fishermen were going crazy to catch them! After the boardwalk experience, we shared a lovely, virgin pineapple smoothie. Very refreshing after the long, hot walk!
Panama is also known as a “Spring Break” destination. They have tons of shops and activities for family and friends. In addition, you can usually find an affordable beach-front condo in one of their many high-rise hotels. One bit of information I learned…don’t visit in January! It’s kind of chilly!! It’s better to travel further south in the winter for a warmer stay in Florida.
~Quote By St. Augustine~
“The world is a book and
those who do not travel
read only one page.”
I believe the more you travel, the more you learn about life, people and cultures. Many individuals really open up, when they hear you’ve been to their “side of the tracks!” This can also be a great benefit in learning new things and making lifelong friends. Don’t just stay in your comfort zone! Take time out and explore…God created such a beautiful world for us to enjoy. Rest is needed, now more than ever with the busyness of life. Admire God’s wonderful creations and stand in awe of Him! He’s worthy to be praised!
